The long face dock makes for a convenient stop when transiting the canal. Good dinner at the restaurant. Very helpful & professional, well versed in the challenges of their current.

Giordanos Restaurant & Sports Bar
On our way from Cape May to Baltimore. Liked it so much we stayed a second night. Quaint town and very nice restaurant. Dock crew were very accommodating. The docks and power were very new and more than adequate. Steve and his team provide an excellent experience.

Good basic marina with a really good restaurant. If you are picky the noise from vehicles on the bridge might bother you. I had a cold beer and thought of the sounds as a funky reggae beat. Great location midpoint on the C&D canal.

No stores of any kind nearby, although Steve offered to have staff give us a ride to a grocery store. We are docked from May1st to Oct31st on the transit floating docks. Our vessel is definately in good hands with Dockmaster Tom & Manager Steven Connell. They are able to run this top notch facility because of the knowledgable & friendly deckhands. (Olivia Marro, Leah Stubbs, Scott Seisler) Schaefer's is without question your #1 way point when transiting the C&D Canal. Staff was great - and knowledgeable of local conditions and setting lines for the 3+ foot tide swings.
Even a cold water outside rinse off shower would have been nice. Nice folks running the docks (inc their staff). However not a marina - mainly dockage for restaurant & bar (which we found convenient). Therefore, no dock restrooms or showers (bathrooms at restaurant).
Tom was expert on getting us secured in swift currents. On site restaurant very convenient. Convenient spot to stop with a restaurant at your door.
The available amenities of the docks, which are located outside of a restaurant and bar, are noted on the Snag-A-Slip profile. The marina does offer restrooms, but a bath house is not an available amenity. Great stay at Schaefer's marina.

Also a great walking and bike path if you're looking for a place to stretch your legs. A very convenient stop along the way. The person that helped us dock was excellent! Tied up quickly and securely. Very helpful tie up assistance.
If you have tried the above and still do not see availability, the marina may be full for your dates or unable to accommodate your vessel size. Use our search bar to find nearby marinas or private listings. Dockmaster and crew were excellent in meeting all our needs. Location much quieter than Chesapeake Inn.
The marina offers 30amp and 50amp shore power. While visiting, boaters will have access to great amenities including restrooms and a full provisioned Ships Store. This is a good location to stop in preparation to head down the C&D canal, and Delaware River. I believe this is the only marina in Chesapeake City that has fuel. Since the main dockage is along a fixed dock it's fairly easy to pull up and the dockmaster is very helpful and friendly.
Again, great docking support. The restaurant had a live band and the food was excellent. Very pleasant stay and great stop between Cape May and Annapolis. While Schaefer's Canal House is an awesome marina, they also have an amazing bar and restaurant attached to it that second to none.
Excellent hours for transients if trying to stretch your day. Nice casual restaurant on site. Current and pilings made for a rough night. The restaurant was lively and the food was good. As to the accommodations there is a substantial amount of current through the marina and the tidal change is roughly 3’.
The restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Strong currents can be expected. We really enjoyed the bar and restaurant.
Enjoyed the bike trail and restaurant accommodations. A little crazy on a holiday but the staff is great and works hard. We will definitely add Schaefer's to our 'must return' list. Dock hands were very helpful ,especially with their current and friendly. Steve, the Dockmaster, went out of his way to make sure we had a great stay.
Nice location with the restaurant and the dockmaster hours were very convenient for our 5p arrival. Only suggestion is to add showers to the facility. The staff was incredibly helpful when docking and getting advice on transiting the canal and out the the Delaware Bay.
